Instructions for Importing Favorites into Browser

We have just sent you an email with the html file that you can import into your web browser so you will have links to each state information portal in your favorites folder. You can also download the file on this page by selecting the link below. The instructions on how to import the file into your web browser are included in the email as well as below.

Instructions to Import Favorites into your Web Browser:

Internet Explorer

1. Save the attached html file called StateInformationLinks92012.html to your computer in a place you can find it.
2. Open the web browser
3. Click the “Star” icon (upper right corner).
4. Click the “down arrow” next to the phrase “Add to Favorites”
5. Click “Organize Favorites”
6. Click “New Folder” and name the folder for these links and click “Close”
7. Click the Star icon again and the down arrow next to Add to Favorites
8. Click Import and export
9. Click the ‘radio button” next to “Import from a file” and then click Next
10. Select “Favorites” (do not select Feeds or Cookies” and then click Next Browse to find the saved html file StateInformationLinks92012.html
11. Highlight the file StateInformationLinks92012.html and click the Open button
12. Click the Next button
13. Choose where you want this Folder of Favorites to be and click Import
14. Click Favorites

Chrome Browser:

1. Save the attached html file called StateInformationLinks92012.html to your computer in a place you can find it.
2. Open the Chrome web browser
3. Click the “wrench” icon (upper right corner).
4. Select Bookmarks.
5. Select Bookmark manager
6. Click the word Organize in the Bookmark Manager
7. Click Add Folder and name the folder where you want these links to be (click enter when done typing folder name)
8. Click the word Organize again and select Import Bookmarks
9. Browse to find the saved html file StateInformationLinks92012.html
10. Highlight the file SecStLinks.html and click the Open button

Firefox:

1. Save the attached html file called StateInformationLinks92012.html to your computer in a place you can find it.
2. Open your Firefox web browser.
3. Click on the Bookmarks option at the top of the window
4. Select “Show All Bookmarks”.
5. At the top of the Bookmarks window, click on “Import and Backup”
6. Select “Import Bookmarks from HTML.”
7. Open the file that you downloaded in step one

Safari:

1. Save the attached html file called StateInformationLinks92012.html to your computer in a place you can find it.
2. Open your Safari web browser.
3. Click on the Gear icon and select “Show Menu Bar”
4. Open the File menu at the top of the screen
5. Select “Import Bookmarks.”
6. Browse to find the saved html file StateInformationLinks92012.html
7. Highlight the file StateInformationLinks92012.html and click the Open button
